Clean Air And Clean Water - 1292 Words

During a White House briefing an official explained that the administration is â€Å"†¦urging the EPA for focus on what the administration believes is its core mission: Clean air and clean water† (Merica). While claiming that clean air and water are the administrations main priorities, the official also remarked, â€Å"I think the President has been very clear that he is not going to pursue climate change policies that put the US economy at risk† (Merica). These two administrative policies seem to cross one another in a matter that supposes that, clean air and water policies come in a form that the new administration sees as effective and as a non-threat to the U.S. economy. This shows in the actions of president Trump who has proposed withdrawing†¦show more content†¦Oil companies on the other hand disaapprove with leaving the paris agreement because â€Å"In short, stable US policy and a favourable view of the US in the world is good for Shell’s business† (Sampathkumar). This opposition to the possible withdrawal of U.S. to the Paris Agreement, has put the deregulation of clean air policies into question. Trump has also enacted many deregulatory policies that target banking. Deregulations focusing mainly on the Dodd-Frank Act of the Obama administration; President Trump, as of February, has ordered a Congressional Review of the bill. According to Business Insider, Trump has motivation to repeal parts of the Dodd-Frank Act, â€Å"I have so many people, friends of mine, that have nice businesses, and they can t borrow money. They can t get money from the banks — they just can t get any money because the banks won t let them borrow because of rules and regulations in Dodd-Frank† (Chaparro).
